ECE/ECEA Certificate Types in BC Canada
Requirements
To demonstrate that you have the knowledge, skills, and ability to be an ECE with SNE specialization, you must submit evidence of at least one of the following:
- Successful completion of a special needs early childhood educator training program recognized by the ECE Registry
- Successful completion of a training program deemed equivalent by the ECE Registry
- Must include a practicum focused on the education and care of young children with support needs and diverse abilities
- Valid certification or registration in another Canadian province or territory
And
- You must hold or be qualified to hold an ECE Five Year Certificate
- You may apply for an ECE Five Year Certificate and a Special Needs Early Childhood Educator Certificate at the same time
- Good character reference
An SNE Certificate needs to be renewed every 5 years.
