Online Application Instructions – Victoria International Student Programs (SD 61)

On-Line Application Information for Students

Thank you for your interest in our educational programs. Studying and living in Victoria will be a rewarding and enriching experience. We look forward to welcoming you to our community.

We regret SD61 cannot accept applications from students over the age of 18.

To ensure prompt processing of your application, be sure to fill out the on-line application form in full, and provide us with files of the required documents. You will have an opportunity to upload the files and pay the application fee on the final page of the on-line application form.

Incomplete submissions cannot be processed until all required application information and documents are received.

Before you start the online application process, please make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. You will need the student’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. You will also need the name, address, email and phone number of someone we may contact in case of an emergency. Required documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

The application fee is $250 CAD and is nonrefundable. We will contact you for payment of the application fee.

Required documents

To submit an application, the documents listed below are required. If you do not upload these documents into the online application system, you cannot complete the application process. If you do not submit a complete application within 14 days, the partial application will be automatically deleted.

  • Transcripts or report cards. You must have a record of grades for the last two years, translated into English, they must be in PDF or JPEG files only, and less than 5MB in size. You will only be able to upload one document, so please ensure all pages of the records of grades are scanned as a single document.
  • Passport photo page. Please scan the passport photo page of the student’s passport. This allows us to double-check the student’s information to ensure all correspondence is correct.
  • Recent photograph of student
  • Course selection form – you will be asked to download and complete this form after filling out the application
  • Custodianship document – for students who will not be in VISP homestay. Please see below.

Custodianship document (for students not in VIE homestay)

Victoria International Education will be the custodian for students in our homestay program.

Students who have arranged their own homestay must have an adult custodian in Victoria and and are required to submit a notarized declaration of custodianship to the program office. The custodian must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, over 25 years old, and must live full time in the Greater Victoria area.

Note for Short-Term and Summer Camp Programs Applicants:

Students applying to attend only the Short-Term Program do not require a course selection form. Submission of transcripts/report cards is optional.
